BEST BUDDIES
A gentle tale of patience, play, and new friendship.
Sometimes, you just have to branch out.
While I usually write a lot of Epic Fantasy or Sword and Sorcery style novels for Young Adults (12-18) and adults (18+), this book had to be written.
Thanks to Astra Crompton (https://www.astracrompton.com/) for the AMAZING illustrations, and to Corsair the brown tabby for the inspiration.
Miss you, buddy.

The true story behind the story
This story was an interaction between the author’s two cats: 7-year-old Corsair and 8-week-old Wolf. Wolf's full name is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart because (true story) he was NOT deaf. When he was little, there was a question about his hearing, so he was going to be named after a rather famous deaf composer... only someone got the famous composers mixed up. He was named Mozart, and it turned out he wasn't deaf, so it worked out.
Little Wolfgang had only known his siblings and mother when he was introduced to the household at the age of 8 weeks. With patience and understanding, Corsair helped Wolf come out of their shell and feel safe in their new home. They remained best friends until Corsair’s passing in 2024 from a fast-moving cancer.
Corsair was the perfect "middle child" that bridged the gap between Corsair's brother Levi and the young new Wolf. With Corsair mediating, even Levi came to tolerate Wolfgang successfully, making them into a happy clowder.
